America is exceptional, and that’s something we must never forget. But for the past two years, the Biden Administration and a Democrat-led Congress have failed to keep their promises about uniting the American people and bringing in an era of quiet and competent leadership. I hear from Arkansans everyday how fear is a constant in their day to day due to reckless policies. Inflation has shrunk paychecks and increased costs. Children have suffered severe education loss reversing years of learning. An out-of-control border crisis has allowed fentanyl to flow into our communities, making it the leading cause of death in Americans ages 18 to 45. Violent crime has put innocent people in danger.

Many of you are wondering where we go from here and what comes next. I want to assure you that in the 118th Congress, I am committed to doing what we can to lower energy costs and avoid running out of diesel fuel and also writing a Farm Bill that best serves the producers, stakeholders, and consumers it will impact at a time where farm input costs are rising quickly. My Republican colleagues are on board with a strategy to strengthen our economy by tackling inflation, lowering the cost of living and gas prices, and ending dependence on China by strengthening our supply chain. We also plan to fulfill our Constitutional duty of conducting oversight to federal agencies like the Department of Homeland Security to hold them accountable for the crisis at our southern border and the FBI for targeting supporters of President Trump and parents at school board meetings.

I am thankful to be given the opportunity to serve the people of the First District in the 118th Congress, and it’s a job I take very seriously. The House Republicans are dedicated to tackling these issues, and we are committed to being a united front against this Administration’s disastrous agenda. Starting on day one, we will work together to get our nation back on track. Our country depends on it, and Americans are watching.
