Hi,

For almost two years, Comcast and their Big Cable allies have blocked net
neutrality by delaying Senate confirmation of Gigi Sohn, President Biden's
nominee for the fifth and tiebreaking seat on the Federal Communications
Commission.^1

Now the lame-duck session of Congress could be the Senate's very last
chance to restore net neutrality.

We might not know for weeks who will be in charge of the Senate next year,
but if it's Mitch McConnell, he'll do everything he can to block Sohn's
confirmation and kill net neutrality. That's why we're demanding that
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and the Democrats confirm President
Biden's nominee for the FCC right now.

When Donald Trump appointed former Verizon lawyer Ajit Pai as chair of the
FCC, he wasted no time in killing off the net neutrality rules protecting
the free and open internet.^2

Net neutrality protects the free and open internet by preventing companies
like Comcast from charging unfair fees and prioritizing traffic for big
corporations while dumping the rest of us on an internet slow lane.

Repealing net neutrality was one of Donald Trump's biggest gifts to Big
Cable. President Biden was expected to immediately fire Trump's FCC chair,
Ajit Pai, and replace him with an open internet supporter who would
restore net neutrality.

Biden took a big step by nominating Gigi Sohn, a proven advocate for net
neutrality, to replace Ajit Pai on the FCC. But a nasty Big Cable smear
campaign against her has managed to stall her confirmation and deny the
FCC the fifth tie-breaking vote needed to reinstate net neutrality
protections.

The post-election lame-duck session of Congress could be our very last
chance to restore net neutrality, so we need to turn up the heat to demand
the Senate act to confirm Gigi Sohn right now.
