Dear John,

The global day of climate action has arrived! All over the world people will be taking action today to call for greater action and climate justice at COP27.

Stop Climate Chaos is organising a photo action at 12 noon today at the Famine Memorial at Custom House Quay [[link removed]] -we'd love you to join us - more on that below.

Can't join us in Dublin? Don't worry! Here are two actions you can take from home:1. Amplify the impact of today's action from home

You can help amplify the impact of today's photo stunt by tweeting photos from it and tagging politicians to make sure they see it. We've got sample tweets in here [[link removed]] - once the action is finished this afternoon you'll be able to access photos from the action here [[link removed]] [[link removed]]to add to your tweets.

Folder with sample tweets - photos will be available here this afternoon [[link removed]] 2. Take an e-action

Stop Climate Chaos member organisation has an e-action you can take [[link removed]] to send an email to Government ministers asking Ireland to endorse a treaty to phase out fossil fuels at COP27 - and provide Loss and Damage finance to help vulnerable communities deal with severe climate impacts.

Take the e-action [[link removed]] Today's photo action - join us at the Famine Memorial

We’ve chosen the Famine Memorial [[link removed]] as the photo action’s location to stand with communities experiencing extreme hunger as a result of the climate crisis and colonialism. Join us at 12 noon today.

We'll call on the Government to take responsibility for the damage that Ireland’s emissions have caused by supporting a Loss and Damage Finance Facility at COP27.

This Facility, if established, would help countries suffering from climate loss and damage, namely climate impacts to which they cannot adapt, such as the extreme climate exacerbated drought that is raging across the Horn of Africa or the loss of land and homes on island nations due to salt water flooding.

Whether you can come to the Famine Memorial or take online action from home, I hope you can join us today as we call for climate justice during COP27.

Together let's make our voices heard!

In solidarity

Deirdre
