Friends, right now, it’s too early to call the outcome of our race for Congress in California’s 3rd district.
We are going to wait this out and give the hardworking election officials time to count every single ballot.
While I often talk about how my parents taught me the value of education and hard work, they also taught me patience! Something we may need in the coming days.
In the meantime, I want to say again: thank you.
This campaign started because I could no longer sit on the sidelines at a time when we need leaders to put partisanship aside and step up and serve our community. In a combat zone you don’t spend your time worrying about your differences; you work together to get the job done and keep each other safe. That’s the energy we had during this campaign and that’s the energy I hope to bring to Washington.
When we began this campaign over a year ago, the pundits said we didn’t have a chance. But over 1,000 folks stepped up to volunteer, and over 17,500 of you donated. Together, we created a real movement for change — as evidenced by how close this race is. I’m proud to have been on this journey with you.
My team is closely monitoring the results, and we will keep you updated.
In thanks,
Dr. Kermit Jones
