I hope you had a wonderful week. Today, on Veterans Day, I join Americans across the country in recognizing the men and women here in the Granite State and across the country who have served the United States in uniform. Our veterans, active-duty service members, and all military families make incredible sacrifices in service to our nation.

I’m proud of the progress we have made to ensure veterans have the resources and support they need and deserve, and I will continue advocating for our nation’s veterans through my work in Congress. Thank you to those who put everything on the line to keep us safe.

Today, I’m thinking of my father, Malcolm McLane, who was among the brave, patriotic forces who fought to liberate Europe from Nazi control during World War II. He flew dozens of missions before being shot down in the Battle of the Bulge and spending months in a Nazi prisoner-of-war camp. His service and sacrifice to our nation continue to inspire me every day.

The IRS extended the deadline to file your taxes through Free File until November 17th in order to ensure that families and individuals can claim the tax credits they are eligible for. For more information, you can visit the IRS’s website HERE.

The open Enrollment Period to sign up or make changes to your health insurance through the Affordable Care Act Marketplace has begun. Visit HealthCare.gov to browse plans – if you need assistance learning more about which plan is right for you and your family, help is available. You can visit localhelp.healthcare.gov or call 1-800-318-2596.

Hearing aids are now available over the counter without a prescription or exam. This could save Granite Staters thousands of dollars and will remove financial barriers to getting hearing aids.

As always, the CDC and the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services are the best resources to turn to for information about COVID-19. If you are sick, stay home and call your health care provider.
