On Tuesday night, our campaign enjoyed a hard-fought luxury many others didn’t have: certainty. We knew just hours after polls had closed that we’d done it, we re-elected Cori. But so much remains unknown, between races that are still too close to call, runoffs, and recounts — the picture is still a bit blurry.
So, here’s what we know right now:
Missouri
✅ We elected Alderwoman Megan Green, a progressive educator, to become St. Louis’ Madam President of the Board of Aldermen for the next five months. For the first time in history, the city of St. Louis has elected women into this position, mayor, and Congress.
✅ Missouri Democrats made gains against a Republican supermajority, setting up 2024 to be a pivotal year for the party in the Show Me State.
✖️ The state government in Missouri is a GOP trifecta — the Governor’s office, State Senate, and State House all went red. That means that our progressive movement is a critical stronghold, and we must do everything we can to strengthen the vision we have for St. Louis and help other communities across the state build their own progressive agendas.
U.S. Congress
✅ Experts warned of a Republican “red wave” for months; instead, even the early results show that this was the strongest midterm election outcome for a party in power in 20 years.
U.S. Senate
❓ The fight for the Senate is set to roll into December, and our campaign is eager to share our strength. You know the importance of holding every seat possible in the Senate and sending a clear message to the proponents of the MAGA agenda, like Herschel Walker.
The get-out-the-vote effort is a tremendous lift, but we know what is possible when we come together because our strength comes from the power of the people. And we will not rest; we will not yield until we achieve true justice and freedom for all.
