John,
We've had some tremendous wins but unfortunately, we came up short in this election. But I wouldn't have done this thing any other way.
My life called me into organizing, and I bring that calling with me to my work every day. I'm not afraid to call it like I see it, to show up, to get loud, to speak truth to power, and to lay it all on the line for my people. I might be a different kind of politician and that's because politics doesn't have enough people like you and me.
I am one of you. I know what it's like to work two jobs, to live paycheck to paycheck, to see my friends and family locked up because of the criminal INjustice system.
This country is full of people just like me. People who know what it's like to be a statistic, an underdog, a cog in the wheel of capitalism.
Nineteen months ago, you trusted me enough to join me on this journey. And even though the outcome of this race wasn't what we had hoped for, I stand here proud as hell for the work we've done.
We created something beautiful in this campaign. We knocked doors that had never been knocked. We activated people who had never been reached. We watched as single moms and college students voted for the first time ever. And now? We're going to take this movement and water it and nurture it and watch it grow into something bigger than we could ever imagine. So today, we rest. Tomorrow, we pick up where we left off.
All power to all people.
Thank you,
Odessa Kelly
