Hello Friend,
Do you have a favorite biblical story that you heard as a child and have not
forgotten as an adult? Does the message from that story still resonate?
I sure do. It’s the story of the man who found treasure buried in a field he
probably walked by every single day. Instead of trying to steal the treasure or
just leaving it behind, the man sold everything he owned so that he could
afford to buy the field and its secrets.
The idea of buried treasure captivated my young mind and to this day, I think
about all the man was willing to sacrifice in order to obtain the immeasurable
worth of that treasure.
You may not remember the specific title, and you may forget the Scripture
references, but you will never forget that story and its inspirational message.
Jesus knew this, and he was a masterful storyteller! His stories were called
parables, from a Greek word meaning “to lay alongside of.”
And this is exactly what Jesus did—each parable He shared communicated bold,
world-changing truth hidden in an example of everyday life. Much like that
buried treasure, these truths are just waiting for us to take the time to
uncover them.
That’s why I wanted to get you a free copy of The Parables of Jesus.
