November 11th marks the 103rd anniversary of what was once known as Armistice Day, marking the end of World War I at the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month in 1918. The federal holiday was renamed Veterans Day in 1954 at the urging of veterans groups.

** The Latest: Georgia Senate Race Moves to Runoff
------------------------------------------------------------

Georgia will hold on a run-off election on Dec. 6 after neither Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock nor Republican challenger Herschel Walker received 50% of the vote.
Although Democrats are expected to (narrowly) lose the House, control of the Senate is still undecided as states continue counting votes.
Remember, the official results of the 2022 midterms may be days or weeks away.

During Tuesday's election, four states voted on ballot initiatives related to state constitutional rights to abortion.
California voters approved Prop 1, a measure asking whether the state's constitution should be updated to codify reproductive rights. Michigan voters approved Prop 3, enshrining abortion protections in its state constitution. Vermont voted to add reproductive rights to the state's constitution with the passing of Prop 5. In a victory for abortion rights, Kentucky voters rejected Amendment 2, a ballot measure aimed at denying constitutional protections for abortion.

** Why Hasn’t the Control of Congress Been Called Yet?
------------------------------------------------------------
[link removed]
The Associated Press (AP) hasn’t yet called which party controls Congress. The news company can’t make the call until one party has 218 seats in the House or enough required to control the Senate — 50 for Democrats and 51 for Republicans.
It’s unclear when AP will be able to call the control of Congress as it doesn’t make race predictions like other organizations. AP can only declare a winner when it’s certain that a trailing candidate will not be able to get ahead.
