The evidence against Trump continues to pile up.

Just this past weekend evidence emerged as newly obtained emails revealed
that even officials at the White House and Trump’s Office of Management
and Budget raised serious concerns over Trump's direction that the
much-needed military aid to Ukraine be withheld – and yet despite the
concerns raised repeatedly by administration officials, Trump proceeded to
deny release of the aid.^1

As the Senate continues to negotiate the rules for the impeachment trial
they'll soon undertake, this damning new evidence increases the urgency
that Trump is convicted and removed from office.

The newly released emails show that officials at OMB and the Pentagon had
severe concerns over Trump's demand to freeze the aid – leaving an
important U.S. ally without desperately needed military assistance.

As Republicans in the Senate threaten to abdicate their responsibilities
to serve as impartial jurors in their trial; with Majority Leader
McConnell making it clear that he is negotiating the terms of the trial
with the White House.

Many Republicans in the Senate are signaling their willingness to abdicate
their responsibilities to serve as impartial jurors in their trial
following Mitch McConnell who is making it clear that he is working
closely with the White House to set the terms of the trial.

Remember that the rules for the trial can be set with only fifty-one votes
in the Senate, so ANY Republicans who push-back against Trump or
McConnell's plans for the trial is significant in and of itself and will
be seen as an important fracture in his support.
