John,

Based on the results that have come in since Tuesday, we feel energized because your time, money, and effort made a difference to expand a pro-environment majority in the legislature! At a time when Big Oil is reaping record profits and the public faces volatile gas prices, you showed up with truth, optimism, and a commitment to a better future. Thank you!

In this cycle, Washington Conservation Voters PAC spent more than $350,000 supporting pro-environment candidates at the state and local level. WCV and our statewide Field Team reached and engaged eligible voters all across Washington, from Yakima to Whatcom County to Seattle to Clark County, connecting with more than 75,000 people, which could be the deciding factor in close races. Our endorsed candidates ran on climate, environmental justice, and conserving our diverse environments/ecosystems as top campaign issues.

To our volunteers and supporters, thank you for the time and energy you put into making sure your friends and family cast their ballots for bold progress on the issues we all care about. Civic engagement is about more than casting a ballot, and we want to give a particular thank you to the exceptional work of those not eligible to vote this election – the hours you spent encouraging others to get out the vote did not go unnoticed.

WCV's Evergreen Future campaign pushes elected officials across the state to support bolder environmental action. This year, over 80 endorsed candidates signed onto the Evergreen Future platform. We look forward to working with them to achieve our shared vision for clean air, clean water, healthy forests, environmental justice, public health, and corporate accountability.

Thank you for all you’ve done this year to fight for a strong democracy and a healthy environment. You inspire us.

Onward,

Lennon Bronsema

Chief Campaigns Officer
