As our nation celebrates Veterans Day, I would like to honor the selfless service and sacrifice of our veterans and active duty military.

Their service in protecting our freedoms and way of life deserves our collective thanks not just on Veterans Day, but throughout the year. I salute their service to our country.

Today, I also reaffirm my commitment to fighting for our veterans. They deserve accessible and effective services when they return home — it’s our obligation as a country. Health care, secure housing, and good jobs are all areas where we must do better for our veterans.

I hope you’ll join me in thanking the veterans, service members, and military families in your life today.
