Dear Neighbors,

As we celebrate Veterans Day, we pause to reflect on the courageous decisions and selfless sacrifices made by so many brave men and women in uniform. Their decision to serve in the United States Armed Forces should never be overlooked or taken for granted. Our veterans and active-duty service members deserve our support and quality essential care.

Restore Veterans Dignity Act of 2022

Earlier this year, I introduced the Restore Veterans Dignity Act of 2022, which expands assistance to homeless veterans and simplifies the process of securing housing and the necessities veterans require to build a strong foundation on which they can thrive.

Veterans are brave and heroic—these soldiers put their lives on the line to defend and protect our precious democracy. This legislation would ensure that the Department of Veterans Affairs can permanently use funds more efficiently and effectively to support the needs of homeless veterans.

Too many of our nation’s veterans have returned home from serving our country and lack access to housing and other basic needs. As Members of Congress, we have an obligation to ensure that they, too, can live with dignity.

Remember Everyone Deployed (RED)

Our country is not without its shortcomings, but it is full of promise.

Today, we celebrate veterans from all walks of life who recognize that the promise of what this country could be is always worth fighting for.

Veterans Day is more than just a chance to say, "Thank you."

It is a chance to recommit to ensuring veterans and their families have the resources they need to live meaningful lives long after they hang up their uniforms.

I will continue my tireless work to do just that.
