*LANSING* ? Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel is thanking veterans today for their service to our country and reissuing information and resources shared by the Department of Attorney General to help support current and former members of the military and their families.?

?Our veterans and their families deserve our utmost respect and support for their service and sacrifice,? said Nessel. ?It is my honor to reflect on the contributions of those willing to serve our country this Veterans Day and to share the work of my department in support of current and former members of our military.??

Recent and ongoing work focused on supporting veterans, military members, and their families includes:?


* *Video Sharing Information with Military Members About Contaminated Drinking Water Settlement, Warn of Potential Scams:*??

Attorney General Nessel and Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) Director Zaneta Adams recently partnered for a video to share important information about resources available to military members and their families who may have been exposed to toxic chemicals, and to warn them about scammers who may try to exploit them for financial gain.??

In the video, available through the Department of Attorney General?s website [ [link removed] ], AG Nessel and Director Adams highlight the disability benefits, healthcare or compensation veterans may qualify for under the PACT Act signed into law by President Joe Biden. During their service, veterans may have been exposed to contaminated drinking water at U.S Marine Base Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Station New River in North Carolina between August 1953 and December 1987.?
