2020 is set to be an even bigger year for us and the animals we’re fighting to protect. Our innovative legal work is more important than ever – and we couldn’t do it without you. We are grateful to have you by our side, and we look forward to keeping you updated on the high-impact legal battles you empower us to fight for animals, like:

  • Suing California Carolina Dogs: The case against this California breeding operation heads to trial this month. We’re aiming to shut down this illegal operation that has kept dogs in unsanitary conditions and violated state laws.
  • Fighting for Bella’s Bill: We’re continuing our fight for the passage of Bella’s Bill. Named in honor of Bella, an 11-year-old dog who died as a result from the injuries she sustained at the hands of her trusted guardian, Bella’s Bill will change New York state law so that the punishment fits the crime for animal abusers.
  • Ending Factory Farm Abuse: Undercover investigations have revealed severe animal abuse on factory farms — animals beaten, kicked, maimed, and thrown. The ability to investigate, document, and publicize corporate agriculture’s abuses is imperative both to the well-being of animals, and to our own health and food safety. We’re currently challenging Ag-Gag laws — which seek to make undercover investigations of factory farms illegal — in Iowa, Kansas, Arkansas, and North Carolina.

We have many tough battles ahead in 2020. With your help, we’ll keep fighting in courtrooms and legislatures across the country — standing as the legal voice animals need.

For the animals,

Stephen Wells, Executive Director
