National Migration Week 2020:
"Promoting a Church and a World for All"
January 5 - 11, 2020

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From January 5 - 11, 2020, the Church celebrates National Migration Week. The theme
for National Migration Week 2020, "Promoting a Church and a World for All" reflects
the need for Catholics to be inclusive and welcoming to all our brothers and sisters.
Welcoming the newcomer and promoting a church for all counters what Pope Francis
has referred to as "a globalization of indifference,". We are called to be an active
Church in support of all of God's children, for "the Church which 'goes forth'...
can move forward, boldly take the initiative, go out to others, seek those who have
fallen away, stand at the crossroads and welcome the outcast" (Evangelii Gaudium
24).
We hope that you will join us in celebrating National Migration Week in your local
diocese, parish, or school. To help in this process, please see the JFI toolkit
National Migration Week is an opportunity to become more engaged on the migration
issue, learn about Church teaching related to this phenomenon, and inspire others
to work in support of the dignity of migrants. We thank you for all the work that
you do in this regard.
Have a wonderful National Migration Week!
