john,
Thank you.
The results of our race are in, and thanks to your incredible support, I am honored to return to Washington, D.C., to continue fighting for Washingtonians across the district. I have so much to say to you here.
First, thank you to the voters in the 8th District, who once again put your faith in this community pediatrician to represent you in Washington, D.C., and who participated in this most fundamental element of our democracy: voting.
Second, my heart absolutely bursts with gratitude to everyone who worked side by side with me to get the message out, and get the vote out. What a team! To all the volunteers who doorbelled, made phone calls, hosted canvass launches, and contributed, we simply could not have done this without you. Your enthusiasm, dedication, hard work, and love of democracy made all the difference in this election. I'm honored to have had you by my side, and I'm proud of all that we've accomplished together.
All elections are choices. And campaigns make the case for who will best represent the people of the 8th District in Congress. Together, we have already accomplished so much: working to bring down costs, investing in police and public safety, and protecting a woman's right to make her own, very personal healthcare decisions.
We're going to keep working to: bring down the cost of medications and healthcare; protect Social Security and Medicare; make Roe the law of the land; crack down on price gouging by corporations that use inflation as cover to raise prices even more and pad their profits; ensure police have the resources to keep our communities safe; bring manufacturing of vital goods back to the U.S. and Washington State; protect our public lands, air, and water; build the infrastructure of the future; and invest in clean energy - both for our national security and to preserve this beautiful planet for generations to come.
It is the honor of my life to serve the 8th District in Congress. I know our work is far from over, and I'm honored to have the opportunity to continue fighting for you as your congresswoman. I look forward to continuing to listen, serve, and deliver for all of my constituents.
Thank you again, john.
