| | Dear John, Thank you for being a part of our community. As folks who are politically active, I wanted to share some interesting facts about this election in this mini-newsletter: * First, I did a video at my Youtube channel, The Takedown, on how Liz Cheney must be laughing and loving life right now. After Kevin McCarthy kicked her out of GOP House Leadership for voting for Trump's impeachment, Trump supported a primary opponent who was able to beat her in her House race in very conservative Wyoming. But, not only did Cheney play a key role in the January 6th Committee, which clearly hurt Republicans, but she endorsed a few key House members in some of the most targeted seats in the country--including Dem Reps Abigail Spanberger (VA) and Elissa Slotkin (MI). Republicans wanted those seats, maybe even needed them. And they lost them. This means McCarthy will end up not getting his majority, or will end up with a 2-5 seat majority, and his life will be hell the next two years. Can you imagine having to rely on Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz, Jim Jordan, Paul Gosar, Andy Biggs and Clay Higgins for anything? Any day they don't sit rocking in a corner is a good day for them. Cheney got her revenge. Trump was embarrassed. McCarthy will lose his dream of being Speaker … or get it and live in hell. You can watch more about it here! Enjoy!! * Lauren Boebert still seems on the cusp of losing (happy, happy, joy, joy!), with remaining votes coming in from Pueblo County, where Adam Frisch has been strong. We will let you know as soon as we know more. Again, enjoy! |

| | * Maryland elected its first Black Governor, the incredibly talented Wes Moore. We re-elected key Democratic Governors, including Tony Evers (WI) and Gretchen Whitmer (MI), who will protect ballots in the 2024 election. In Whitmer's case, along with her new majorities in both the state house and state senate! Michigan & Minnesota will now show what can be done when we holde the governorship & both chambers. If you remember how that went in Virginia in 2017--on climate, gun safety, voting, abortion rights & much more--get excited! This was no Red Wave, it was a Blue Crush, folks. More to come, but I wanted to share some key information with you for now. You guys rock. Thank you for everything! Cliff |

| | About BlueAmp Action: We cannot sugarcoat the current situation. Right-wing authoritarianism, defeated by a worldwide coalition during WWII, was only in hibernation. Over the past decade it has infected democratic societies--including ours. It is as simple as it is terrifying: What we do now will define the future of our country and world. We at Blue Amp Action are dedicated to liberal, open societies, where reason and science are applied to solve our problems; where civil rights--including voting rights!--are protected for all. We fight for these values every day. Speaking up on our platforms, raising the voices and the political prospects of liberal pols and pundits. So we ask that you support our work, so we can continue to engage in this fight every moment of every day. So our kids grow up in democracy, not dystopia. Thank you for your support for all we do! Please follow Cliff Schecter on Twitter @cliffschecter, or subscribe to The Takedown with Cliff Schecter on YouTube, to keep up to date with this battle for the heart and soul of our country. — You're getting this message because you’ve supported good causes and Democratic candidates.
