This gentle, cuddly turkey had a heartbreaking past. Someone spared Sandy from slaughter but didn’t give her proper care — housing Sandy with turkeys who were too rough and failing to treat the resulting scrapes, cuts, and infections.

Sandy "The Sweetheart" needed surgery and regular wound care. Despite her trauma, she sought our affection as she healed. She’s one of the most loving turkeys we know — often climbing into our laps to cuddle and chirp along to the music we share.
