John,

We knew going into the past month of fundraising that we'd ask a lot of our supporters. But you’ve been with us long enough to know that we wouldn’t have asked if it weren’t important.

Thanks to you we met our fundraising goal, which will support our 2020 litigation on behalf of our clients, advocacy campaigns across the country, and much more. (You’ll be hearing more about this work soon, so keep an eye out!)
This holiday season was my last as executive director of the Innocence Project. As we celebrated with clients who are home for the first time and continued our fight for those still waiting for freedom, I’m overcome with gratitude for all that this organization has accomplished with your support over the years.

It’s been an honor to be part of the work of seeking a more just and accurate legal system, and I look forward to being one of this team’s biggest fans in the next chapter.

Thank you, and happy New Year,

Maddy deLone

Started in 1992 as a legal clinic at Cardozo School of Law, the Innocence Project is now an independent nonprofit, affiliated with Cardozo, that exonerates the wrongly convicted through DNA testing and reforms the criminal justice system to prevent future injustice.
