Team,
November 8 was a big night for Democrats across the country — but especially here in Pennsylvania. A few highlights:
- John Fetterman will represent everyday Americans in Washington as the next U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania.
- Josh Shapiro won his bid to become our state’s 48th Governor over his election-denying opponent.
- Democrats are taking control of the Pennsylvania State House for the first time in more than a decade.
That last one is a major victory for our state: Just a few weeks ago people thought it was a longshot — but Democrats put in the work to show up at the polls across the entire state to overcome a 23-seat deficit and gain a majority.
In recent years, Democrats have stepped up to ensure redistricting is fair, get voters to the polls, and push back against the extreme GOP agenda to control our healthcare decisions and subvert democracy. And our work paid off.
A Democratic majority in the Pennsylvania House means we’ll be able to deliver for hardworking families in Philadelphia and communities across the state. Our newly elected Governor can spend his time in Harrisburg working with lawmakers to enact meaningful legislation instead of vetoing ill-conceived laws.
We know we have a lot of work left to do. But if this election has taught us anything, it’s when Democrats do the work of talking to voters, listening to their concerns, and stepping up to protect what they hold most dear,
everyone wins.
Team Green is all ready to get to work in Philadelphia to ensure we keep up the momentum into 2023.
