Team, it’s official. I will be the next representative for Colorado’s 7th District.

Before anything else Team, I needed to reach out again just to say thank you.

This was a difficult, hard-fought race, and we wouldn’t have gotten to this outcome without a dedicated, tireless, and truly incredible team. You all came through for me every time I needed you, and words can’t express how grateful I am.

When I was a teenager, if you had told me that I would one day have the opportunity to serve Colorado in the United States Congress, I wouldn’t ever have believed you.

When I was just six years old, my mom hurt her back and was overprescribed opioids, leading to a decades long battle with addiction. I started working when I was twelve cleaning houses and I’ve never known what it’s like not to work multiple jobs just to make ends meet. 

This campaign has always been about fighting for the regular people whose needs so often go overlooked in the halls of Congress, and I promise you that I will work night and day as your Congresswoman to do exactly that.

Together, we will work to build an economy where working families can get ahead.

We will work to support public schools — because I know I wouldn’t be here today without the incredible teachers I had here in Colorado.

We will work to keep our communities safe from gun violence so kids like my son Davis don’t have to grow up with active shooter drills.

We will work to protect our democracy.

We will work to defend our personal freedoms — from the freedom to vote, to the freedom to have an abortion, to the freedom to be with and marry the person you love.

Team, I promise that when I get to Washington, I will fight as hard as I possibly can for you and your family.

Once again, thank you so much for everything you have done to make this victory possible. I won’t ever forget it.
