This year, torrential monsoon rains triggered the most severe flooding in Pakistan’s recent history. Hundreds of thousands of homes, hospitals and schools have been damaged or destroyed and almost 10 million children are in need of immediate, lifesaving support.
Many of the families displaced by the floods have lived in makeshift tents for months with snakes, diseases and viruses lurking in the stagnant water. For now, a single tent is home for Nazira, her husband and their three children — including 6-month-old Naqibullah, who was recently diagnosed with malnutrition at a UNICEF health unit.
With Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF), a lifesaving essential supply item UNICEF uses to treat severe acute malnutrition, children like Naqibullah are on the road to recovery. Still, millions of children in Pakistan lack access to nutrition services, safe water and critical care. |
With winter looming, needs will only increase for children in Pakistan and around the world. Your gift is TRIPLED to deliver urgently needed supplies to more children in crisis-affected areas. |
