John, I am proud to be a Democrat, especially today.
I am grateful to everyone who was a part of this historic election – to everyone who voted, to everyone who knocked on doors, to everyone who donated to big fights, and to everyone who believed we could do it. And John, even though Senate control is still up in the air, I am filled with hope in a big way.
Going into election night, we were prepared for some gut-wrenching losses that could destroy the progress we have been making these past two years. We weren't sure the numbers were on our side, and the president's party almost always faces a tough loss in the midterm elections.
But, against all the odds, we made historic progress across the country – up and down the ballot. To the world's surprise, we stopped a red wave. We defended tough seats in states like New Hampshire and even flipped Pennsylvania blue. We secured control of both legislative chambers for the first time in decades in places like Michigan, and we flipped Maryland's governorship.
But this fight is far from over.
Now, my friend Sen. Raphael Warnock is headed to another tough runoff election. This race is going to be close no matter how it goes, and it could be our only chance to defend or potentially EXPAND our Senate majority. But I just got word that Sen. Warnock's team is up against some tough budget gaps tonight.
If we want to save our Democratic majority, Sen. Warnock needs all the help he can get right now. So that's why I'm personally asking: Can I count on you to split a donation between Sen. Warnock and me to power his team through the runoff? We know that GOP megadonors will be spending millions to flip this seat red, so we need every grassroots donor to stand with us right now.
If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately and be split between Tom Carper and Raphael Warnock.
The end is in sight now, John. I hope you'll see this through with me.
– Tom
