Results are coming in, and while we still don't know exactly where things will end up in the House and Senate, this election has shown that there's a national movement ready to elect Democrats.
But right now, it looks like control of the Senate could very well come down to a December 6 runoff election in Georgia between Senator Raphael Warnock and Herschel Walker. In less than a month, they'll go to the polls again to determine a winner.
Keeping the Senate in Democratic hands will be key to our ability to govern and to confirm President Biden's picks for key positions, especially powerful federal judges. And Senator Warnock is one of our great advocates for a truly inclusive democracy. Our movement needs him in the Senate fighting for what's right.
If we lose this runoff, Mitch McConnell might be in charge of the Senate again. We can't let that happen. Millions of dollars are going to fund his extreme pick, Herschel Walker, and run ads against Warnock. Fighting back will take a lot of us coming together.
