We’re putting the pressure on Congress to act now.

Dear John,

The results of the midterm elections are still rolling in, but one thing is certain now. Big changes are coming to Washington—and the debate over U.S. immigration policy will only intensify as the 118th Congress takes shape.

Control of the House of Representatives will likely change in January, so it’s more important than ever for Congress to get things done now. Through it all, the American Immigration Council will remain committed to advocating for a fair and just immigration system.

We are ramping up our efforts to:

  • Help pass the Afghan Adjustment Act, which would create a pathway to permanent residence for 76,000 vulnerable Afghans who were evacuated following the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan.

  • Protect undocumented youth by ensuring Congress finally passes permanent legislation in the wake of numerous legal challenges to DACA.

We need Congress to act on these measures—now. Will you help us advocate for these changes?
