The election for control of Congress is too close to call. Election workers need more time to count ballots. Election disruptors are spreading lies and conspiring to overturn the will of the people in some places. But our fight to protect against climate change, destructive fossil fuels, and community-poisoning toxic chemicals hasn’t stopped for a minute. We need your help to continue our work, and be ready to respond to any outcome we get at the polls.

FIGHT BACK

Dear Supporter,

Election day is over. The votes are still being tallied -- a good sign that election workers are taking their time to ensure that every vote is counted, that every voice is heard. Voters turned out in strength and utilized early and mail-in voting wherever it was available.1 We know election workers will do their jobs and ensure every vote is counted.

But election disruptors are spreading lies and misinformation in Arizona, and challenging other legitimate victories. What's more, enough races have been called that we won't see a sweeping majority in Congress for climate and justice champions. Even if we don't outright lose Congress, the anti-environment GOP is sharpening its knives to gut every last program protecting wild places, clean air and water, and vulnerable communities.

That's why we can't slow down… we can't stop fighting back… we can't give up, not for a second. We will continue to fight to protect wild places, combat climate change, and preserve our basic rights and freedoms for as long as it takes. But we need you to make it happen.

Supporter, we need you with us -- not just today, but next week, next month, and for as long as it takes. Your gift today will power our efforts to fight back, secure vital protections, and keep communities safe from toxic pollution and climate change.

We're joining with powerful coalitions, staffing up our legal teams, ramping up our legislative strategies, and powering up our millions of grassroots activists to resist. We've seen what happens when we fight together. Remember, even under Trump's tyrannical reign, we established the Great American Outdoors Act, delayed Arctic lease sales, shut down hundreds of coal plants, beat Trump in court, and much more.

Anti-environment forces are going to fight back with everything they have because they know we can still win. But despite their deep coffers and insidious lies, we have something they don't -- YOU.

And we need you with us. Right now.

Rush your gift to the Sierra Club now. Help us renew the fight against forces who want to destabilize our democracy, Big Oil and Coal, and against anyone who threatens our health and our communities in 2023 and beyond.

No matter what the outcome, we know the enemies will have to fight. Special interests that deny climate science... Companies ignoring regulations and polluting our air and water… Legislators in the pocket of Big Oil and Gas profiteers... And anti-voter factions trying to deny people their most basic rights and freedoms. In short: everything we've seen before.

That makes what we do next even more important. We need to work harder than ever, get more people involved than ever, and gather more resources than ever. Because with everyone on our side, we know we can win -- not just nationally, but at the state and local level as well.

Supporter, your support will help us do it. Please, support us to help the Sierra Club stand up to pro-polluter forces in [the House].

Thank you for your courage and your support of the Sierra Club. We'll need you on our team as we build and mobilize for 2023 and beyond.

Onward together,

Loren Blackford
