Espaillat Joins Pelosi Congressional Delegation to COP27 in Egypt
WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, Representative Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) joins Speaker Nancy Pelosi on a Congressional delegation to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) 27th Conference of the Parties (COP27) in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. The delegation will convey the commitment of the United States Congress to continuing the robust progress made to tackle the climate crisis under the leadership of President Biden.
“We are in this together and the United States stands with the overwhelming majority of the global scientific community in understanding that climate change is real,” said Rep. Espaillat. “I am honored to join Speaker Pelosi and my congressional colleagues as we travel to this year’s climate conference, and I look forward to my conversations with global leaders during COP27 to address environmental justice in communities around the world. This is a historic moment, and we must address this climate crisis head on. I am confident we can make transformative investments that reduce emissions, help lower income countries adapt to negative effects climate impacts, and implement real and effective solutions to ensure a healthy planet for generations to come.”

Representative Espaillat is the first Dominican American to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives and his congressional district includes Harlem, East Harlem, West Harlem, Hamilton Heights, Washington Heights, Inwood, Marble Hill and the north-west Bronx. First elected to Congress in 2016, Representative Espaillat is serving his third term in Congress. Representative Espaillat currently serves as a member of the influential U.S. House Committee on Appropriations responsible for funding the federal government’s vital activities. Espaillat se une a delegación del Congreso encabezada por Pelosi que participará en la COP27 en Egipto
WASHINGTON, DC – Esta Semana, el congresista Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) se unió a la presidenta de la Cámara, Nancy Pelosi, en una delegación del Congreso que participará en la 27ª Conferencia de las Partes (COP27) de la Convención Marco de las Naciones Unidas sobre el Cambio Climático (CMNUCC) que se celebrará en Sharm El-Sheikh, Egipto. La delegación transmitirá el compromiso del Congreso de los Estados Unidos de continuar con el sólido progreso logrado para abordar la crisis climática bajo el liderazgo del presidente Biden.
