Friend —

The ongoing conflict in Yemen is accelerating the hunger crisis within the country. More than half of Yemen's population is unable to access enough food for survival.

The ongoing conflict in Ukraine is also directly impacting the hunger crisis in Yemen. Over 45% of Yemen's wheat imports come directly from Russia and Ukraine — and a spiraling economy means that the country is even more dependent on imported food. Any setback in the global food supply chain would hurt hungry people in Yemen when they can least afford it.

Humanitarian needs in Yemen and other high-risk places are skyrocketing. It is essential that we're able to reach people most in need with critical aid and essential supplies. Please, make a donation to help us support hungry people in Yemen and crisis zones worldwide.

Friend, the situation is dire.

For the last six months, Yemen was able to increase their fuel and food imports without incident due to a nationwide truce. Last month, the nationwide truce expired, and with no end in sight to the ongoing conflict, the hunger crisis could take a turn for the worse.

The IRC has assisted people in Yemen since 2012. We provide clean water, urgent health care and food to people who have been displaced by conflict and are living in hard-to-reach areas. With the looming threat of an interruption in grain imports, these efforts are critical.

Earlier this year, you stepped up to help people in Ukraine during their moment of crisis. Now, as the conflict in Ukraine continues to escalate, the impact on places like Yemen continues to worsen with catastrophic consequences. Can you make a gift today to power our response in Yemen and crisis zones worldwide? We urgently need to reach millions of people feeling the effects of the global hunger crisis.

Your compassion makes a difference for children and families. Thank you.
