This has been a big week for democracy, for abortion rights, and for continuing to fight for a progressive agenda that puts human rights, workers’ wages, and our environment ahead of billionaire bullies and corporate greed.

Everyday people turned out in record numbers to defend our democracy and defend our right to bodily autonomy. This shows that the American people did not fall for Republicans’ disinformation and instead voted for love and community over fear and hate.

In Michigan, we won back the State Legislature, and for the first time in 40 years Democrats will control the legislative and executive branches with Governor Whitmer defending her seat with a resounding victory.

We also maintained control of the Michigan Supreme Court and passed critical ballot measures to enshrine abortion rights into our state Constitution and protect and expand voting rights.

While control of Congress still hangs in the balance, we were thrilled to see Summer Lee win her race, becoming the first Black woman to represent Pennsylvania in Congress. And, every member of our Squad won reelection, including our newest members Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman.

Thank you for sending me back to Congress to fight for you. With us winning our race with over 70% of the vote, our neighbors sent a message that we will not allow hate to divide us.

Our campaign team ran a strong grassroots voter-contact campaign, reaching hundreds of thousands of voters through phone calls, texts, and door-knocks during the primary and general elections.

Now, as we look ahead to what will be narrow margins in both the U.S. House and Senate, I need you by my side more than ever to advance our progressive agenda in the face of opposition from the greedy billionaire and corporate interests.
