I first want to congratulate Congresswoman Nikema Williams on her re-election.
After living in Atlanta for the past ten years, I’ve experienced first-hand the rapid decline of the city that I love. I knew that now was the time to get more involved and advocate for change in my community in a bold way. After discussing with my family, I knew that running for the United States House of Representatives for Georgia’s 5th Congressional District would have the most impact on getting Metro Atlanta back on the right track.
We knew from the beginning of this campaign that this race would be difficult, but I firmly believe that if something is important enough to you, you should still try even if success is unlikely.
I want to thank the over 51,000 people who entrusted me with their vote, as representing your voice in this campaign has been the honor of my life. Even though we were not victorious, our campaign did make history.
I hope my candidacy inspires more young people to take on the daunting challenges of not just politics, but also life. Be bold and take chances, you are capable of more than you think.
As for me, I will return to practicing law and advocating for Buckhead residents the right to vote on cityhood.
