Health Care Professionals' Burnout During Covid New Study Points to More Effective Interventions
Frontline physicians, nurses, and other health care professoinals who cared for Covid-19 patients during the first wave of the pandemic experienced enormous occupational stress. A new study of physicians' experiences, coauthored by Hastings Center research scholar Nancy Berlinger, concludes that interventions to reduce stress and burnout should target systems factors and stressors, such as organizational culture and team dynamics.
