Folks — First, I want to thank each and every one of you for your commitment to bettering North Carolina.
On Tuesday, voters across our state said that they see a stronger future for our state when Democrats have a seat at the decision-making table.
Together, we protected Governor Roy Cooper’s veto power and helped elect and re-elect Democrats up and down the ballot who are committed to making North Carolina even greater.
While the outcome of the Senate election is not what we hoped for, I want to thank Cheri Beasley for running an exceptional race and building a people-powered campaign that was focused on progress, justice, and equality. I’m grateful for her powerful advocacy and courageous leadership.
Although this election is over, our work is not done. We must keep fighting to make the economy work for everyone, strengthen public schools, make our healthcare system more accessible to all, keep families safe, and protect our democracy.
Because when we do all those things, we will build an even better North Carolina — one filled with opportunity and promise for everyone.
Thank you again for all you have done during this critical election cycle and what you’ll continue to do to fight for a better North Carolina.
I’m honored to be in this fight alongside you.
