Dear Friend,
What a night! We are thrilled to share some important victories from last night's elections. While some races are too close to call, we know that our movement has made a difference. Muslim voters turned out in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Texas, Minnesota, New York, and so many other states to protect our democracy, preserve our collective rights, and address generational challenges from rising hate, to climate change, to gun violence.
We are so proud of the success of our Million Muslim Votes campaign for the 2022 midterm elections. In 2018, then again in 2020, and now, in 2022, our organization is mobilizing Muslim voters in unprecedented numbers. As shown in our Impact 2020 Report, the importance of the Muslim electorate continues to grow and is now impacting elections across the country.
For the 2022 midterms, Emgage's national team and chapters knocked on 50,000 doors, made 150,000 calls, and sent 920,000 texts to turn out voters. We also organized financial support for critical races and invested in first-time candidates. When every vote matters, our collective action can and has made a difference!
Check out PBS News' story about how our Michigan team galvanized the Muslim American vote during this election cycle.
Thank you to all those who have supported our work and to the staff, volunteers, and partners who do the hard work every day. Be on the lookout later this week for additional results from our state chapters.
