Dear John,

You may remember back in June, we brought you news that a mobile zoo named Zoo2U had submitted plans with the council to open a new zoo in Cheshire.

Hundreds of you sent emails and many also wrote to the council to object to these plans. And amazingly, the council rejected the plans!

However, since then, the mobile zoo Zoo2U have submitted amended plans and details to Cheshire East Council.

We have until the 18th of November to once again object.
Sadly, the council will only accept objection via their online form on their website.

We have a draft objection letter on our website for you to copy and paste or to amend and use your own. You can find this via the link box below. Please remember however, that animal welfare issues are not considered in planning applications or objections. Therefore, we have discussed environmental issues and those affecting the wildlife of the area.

Submit Objection with Council
For those of you who may be new to Freedom for Animals or those who may just have missed this the first time around, you can read more about it on our news page here: https://www.freedomforanimals.org.uk/news/update-to-controversial-cheshire-east-zoo-application

This mobile zoo wishes to expand and move their business so they can build new enclosures and bring in new animals to hold captive for public display, claiming they have ‘outgrown’ their existing property. Animals suffer in captivity and we do not need any new zoos in the 21st century!

What makes this even more shocking is that the land that this zoo will be built on is owned by a badger cull director in Cheshire East. How can a zoo that is claiming it wants to promote conservation have any links to a company that supports the killing of badgers, a protected species.

If you wish to submit an objection to this proposed new zoo, please do so here:

Thank you for taking the time to take this action! I will keep you updated of any progress with this campaign.

For the animals,

Funds raised from this appeal will support our campaign to end tethering and the display of birds for human entetrainment. If we raise more than we need it will be put towards our wider work for animal freedom.
