Hello Friend, and Happy New Year!
I wanted to start this New Year by saying thank you.
Because of you, we successfully hit all of our end of year goals. We finished the year in good standing and we're one step closer to flipping Joni's seat blue.
In the past decade, we endured some seriously tough moments: economic recession, corporate bailouts with taxpayer dollars, foreign states interfered in our elections and Brett Kavanaugh is now a Supreme Court Justice. All of that and so, so much more.
But we've had some important moments forged from the fire of these challenges.
The #MeToo movement forced all Americans to reflect on the social-sexual problems of our society, we realized our planet is running out of time and now we're working alongside climate activists to save it from ourselves, Black Lives Matter continues to organize for a fair justice system, and we're learning now -- more than ever -- that we must partake in our electoral process in order to make lasting, positive change.
It's important to reflect on all the moments in the last 10 years, good and bad -- because we need to learn from our past so we can empower ourselves to fight for the things we need to build our future. No one can do it alone, it takes the hope and dedication of millions of Americans, which is why we need our leaders to bring us together and help us fight for it, not divide us to protect their positions.
And that's why I'm running for Senate. I want to unite the people of Iowa under the same vision for a better, more equitable, and freer America than we've ever known.
Thanks to your help this last year, I'm one step closer to making that happen.
Your friend,
Eddie Mauro
