Despite appearances, this is still the beginning of the end of the Biden era <[link removed]> – e under no
illusion: last night’s midterm election
results <[link removed]> were a huge setback for Joe Biden and his party. The Democrats lost control of the House of Representatives and there is still a chance they will lose the Senate too. The scale of the Republican success was not as big as some polls had projected. But this was still a major blow for the US President. This is in many respects the beginning of the end of the Biden era. He now faces a dramatic loss of authority and influence on Capitol Hill, with his deeply unpopular Big Government vision effectively lying in ruins. The American people have rejected the left-wing agenda <[link removed]>of the Biden Presidency and its allies in Congress. They have had enough of soaring inflation, massive federal debts, open borders, soaring crime, and woke indoctrination in schools. Nearly 70 percent of Americans now believe the nation is heading down the wrong track, according to the latest RealClear Politics poll average. As president, Biden has shamelessly kowtowed to the Left. He has increasingly been out of touch with US voters. At its heart, the United States remains a conservative nation, with strong public support for low taxes, a limited role for the state, secure borders, school choice and parental control in the education system, as well as traditional cultural values. Michigan Adopts Controversial New Voting Rules That Will Jeopardize Election Security, Expert Warns <[link removed]> - Opponents to the amendment warn that the passage of Proposal 2 makes Michigan elections more susceptible to voter fraud. “In voting to approve Michigan Proposal 2, the voters of Michigan were conned by the deceptive language of its proponents into gutting voting ID requirements and implementing other reckless changes that will imperil
the security and integrity <[link removed]> of fair and honest elections <[link removed]> in the state,” Hans von Spakovsky <[link removed]>, the manager of the Election Law Reform Initiative and senior legal fellow at The Heritage Foundation. Heritage Expert: Hans von Spakovsky <[link removed]>
Abortion rights were on the ballot in these 5 states. Here's what voters decided. <[link removed]> - A number of so-called “reproductive rights” ballot initiatives enshrined abortion on-demand at any point in pregnancy in the state constitutions, though it’s worth noting that these states had already embraced abortion on-demand in
their laws. Unfortunately, the task facing pro-life Americans in these states has gotten more challenging and in the meantime, citizens in these states have lost their ability to have a say on critically important policy matters. In Kentucky, robust pro-life laws remain in place and women and their babies are protected. But last night highlights that beyond ballot initiatives, the makeup of state Supreme Courts will be critically important going forward as pro-life laws are challenged in state courts. Elections come and go, but for those who believe in the inherent dignity of every human person, the goal remains the same. The pro-life movement will never shy away from the task of making abortion unthinkable. Heritage Experts: Melanie

China’s Cash Drives America Towards Electrification <[link removed]> – Current energy policies weaken rather than strengthen America. Through federal and state targets for renewable energy and battery-powered electric vehicles, America is becoming more dependent on China—a country that is not friendly to us. What to do? Either America has to accept dependence on China, and live in a constrained way, or it needs to forcibly disconnect with China, and abandon mandates for battery-powered electric vehicles, wind turbines, and solar panels. America gradually needs to incur the costs of shifting overseas manufacturing elsewhere. The next Congress needs to consider the ramifications of both options. Because the second one is difficult, the temptation will be to keep the status quo and accept the first option by default. This would be a serious mistake. It’s time to stop giving China leverage over the United States. Heritage Expert: Diana Fuchtgott-Roth <[link removed]>
Demonizing those who want to fight inflation <[link removed]>
– Using ad hominem attacks often indicates a weak argument—or no argument at all. Exhibit A: Pundit Matthew Dowd compared those who want to reduce inflation with Adolf Hitler <[link removed]>. If you are wondering where the government got the trillions of dollars in excess spending over the last two years, the answer is that the government is taking it out of your hide right now, in the form of higher prices. Every time you pay more to fill your back seat with groceries or your tank with gas, you’ve paid the inflation tax. You are spending more to receive less. For the average American, paychecks don’t go as far, homes are increasingly unaffordable, and retirement savings have been decimated. Inflation is not a Nazi-centric issue, but a commonsense issue. Those on the radical left, many of whom espouse the virtues of Communism, increasingly rely on ad hominem attacks, with Hitlerian comparisons now being the go-to assault. Let’s use real words to convey the truth on immigration <[link removed]> – Fighting for the high ground on contentious political issues inspires a partisan twisting of the English language. Take this Oct. 19 news from Immigration and Customs Enforcement that “officers arrested 175 unlawfully present noncitizens with multiple DUI convictions.” “Unlawfully present noncitizens” is how our Department of Homeland Security describes illegal (a synonym for unlawful) aliens (the legal term for noncitizens). In line with open-borders advocates, DHS now calls people with no legal right to enter or live in the United States “undocumented,” as if they simply left their valid passport and visa at the bus station. Activists want Americans to believe that being “undocumented” is just red tape, a bureaucratic hiccup, not an ongoing state of law-breaking by someone who, typically, has the means and ability to return to his home country. “Parole” used to mean taking someone’s word to do something you were pretty sure they would do. Now, it is the excuse that DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas uses to release hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants per year, well aware that relatively few will keep their promise to show up to immigration court throughout the process until their case is decided.
