Republicans Show Up New York
Politico: Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, the chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, conceded defeat Wednesday, a humiliating loss for Democrats and the chair of the party’s campaign arm. He was ousted by GOP state lawmaker Mike Lawler, who attacked the five-term congressman over crime and inflation ( Politico). Analyst Ryan Matsumoto: If Democrats lose the House (which seems likely at this point), New York may be a big reason why. In #NY03, #NY04, #NY17, #NY19, and #NY25, Republicans appear heavily favored. All five voted for Biden in 2020 ( Twitter). Ed Morrissey: Why are Republicans doing so well in New York? Candidate quality matters, as it turns out, especially at the top of the ticket. And while Lee Zeldin fell short of victory against Kathy Hochul in the gubernatorial election, getting within six points of the incumbent-appointee provided lift for Republicans down the ballot ( Hot Air).

He mocked the media for its predictions going into election night – which had him and his Democrats doing badly – and made jokes when asked about Republicans intentions to investigate his family and about his potential 2024 competition.( Daily Mail). RNC Research: Q: “What in the next two years do you intend to do differently to change people’s opinion of the direction of the country?” BIDEN: “Nothing” ( Twitter).

Surovikin said the troops would leave in the coming days and take up positions on a new defensive line that had been prepared along the eastern bank of the river ( Wall Street Journal). NBC: If Ukraine wins in Kherson it could put the Zelenskyy government in a better position to negotiate. But, they added, it could also discourage Russia from coming to the table if Putin believes he’s not negotiating from a position of strength ( NBC).

Dinesh D’Souza: Well, what a night it was last night. And I gotta say it was a rough night, a bad night. Kind of like this tropical storm [in Florida] perhaps. Not a red wave, really. But I would say some dark clouds in many ways. But dark clouds with some silver linings.
Now, I don’t think...

Brandon Tatum challenges the pernicious narrative that America is systemically racist
Officer Tatum: Many black folks that I know are smart, and we don’t fall for the bull crap. And the reason we don’t fall for the bull crap is, one, because we put God first, and two, because we have common sense and we don’t believe that we gotta follow the status quo.
