Dear supporters, volunteers, and donors,
First things first: THANK YOU for supporting my campaign for California State Assembly!
With your encouragement, wisdom, time, and money in my corner I was able to run a campaign that I hope you look on with team pride. It has been more than a full time job for me, but one I’ve felt called to — a calling you’ve affirmed over and over again. You have my sincerest gratitude.
So who won?
We won’t have a final result for weeks, but early signs are that Gallagher has a very strong lead. Without going into the numbers, it seems unlikely we will make up the gap.
But in truth, WE WON! With your help I was able to connect with so many voters to talk about how we can bring our country back from the brink. I’ve listened deeply to them and to elected officials throughout the district. The bottom line: most (sadly not all) resonated with my message regardless of their party. And it seems my campaign has cross-pollinated with other regional candidates, giving them more confidence to stay positive (and one is re-thinking the use of negatives).
In short, I’ve learned a lot, grown so much, and my heart and spirit are light because you have lifted me up and given me a voice to use for good. You have my enduring gratitude.
What’s next?
Let’s park that until the numbers settle. I need a breather. All that’s clear is this feeling of anticipation that there is more to come. My spirit is both poised and restless. That’s good!
