While last night’s results weren't what we hoped for, I am so proud of the team and campaign we built together. I can’t put into words just how grateful I am for all of the hard work every single one of you put into this campaign.

Against all odds, we built a grassroots coalition that accomplished so much, and I am proud of the integrity of the campaign we ran. We participated in dozens of events across the district and won support from every background -- LGBTQ+ leaders, farmers and ranchers, labor leaders, educators, and so many more.

I ran for Congress because we deserve a representative in Washington who understands what working families in this district go through. I will continue to fight to make sure we have good jobs and wages, our communities are safe, and no one is treated like a second-class citizen in a first-world country.

We set out to prevent Kevin McCarthy from becoming Speaker of the House, and while we came up short of defeating him in this deep-red district, the American people sent him a resounding message last night that we will stand up to his extremism, his attacks on our democracy, and defend our right to choose.

McCarthy thought he was going to walk into the Speaker’s office. Voters had other ideas, and I’m pleased to see that his plans to hold the gavel are now in jeopardy.

Thanks again, John. Whether you voted for me, donated, or simply cheered us on, it was an honor to run for this seat. We left it all out on the field, and I couldn’t be prouder.
