Dear Friend,
I want to personally thank you for the opportunity to continue serving as your United States Representative. Across our state, we saw Mississippians head to the polls to cast their ballot, and I want to thank everyone who exercised their duty and their right to make their voice heard.
Although we don't know what the composition of the House will look like as votes continue to be counted, we are confident that Republicans will take control of the Majority in the House of Representatives. This is an important step in turning our country around, and I intend to work with my fellow Republicans to uphold the commitment that we made to the American people: to build a strong economy, to create a safer nation, to ensure a future that's built on freedom, and to hold the Biden Administration and other government officials accountable.
I believe Mississippi had a strong turnout on Election Day because we understand how important it is to vote, and many of us know a veteran who has fought to preserve that right to vote. Our democracy has been bought and paid for by our veterans, some of whom gave their lives to defend our nation.
This Friday, we will remember all of those men and women of our Armed Forces who have fought to defend our nation and the freedom we enjoy every day. I hope you will join me on Veterans Day in thanking veterans for their service and in taking a moment to be grateful for the brave men and women who have fought for our great nation throughout its history.
One of my proudest accomplishments as your Congressman is the work my staff and I have done to help hundreds of veterans access the benefits they earned. This remains one of my top priorities. If you are a veteran, my office is here to help you. We frequently work with veterans to ensure timely responses from the Department of Veterans Administration (VA); help navigate healthcare, GI Bill, burial, or survivor benefits; recover lost or missing military medals; and much more.
