John,
The results of yesterday’s election, across all levels of government, makes one thing undeniably clear: Americans are done waiting for action against gun violence and they’re going to vote for the candidates who will fight to save lives.
|
Despite the NRA pouring millions into extremist campaigns and crony candidates, gun violence prevention candidates were overwhelmingly supported by voters who have had enough. One critical move the new Congress can make is banning assault weapons – can you respond to our poll now to show your support?

Do you think the new Congress should ban military-style assault weapons?

With your support, Brady fought to elect candidates like Lucy McBath, a gun violence survivor, Maxwell Alejandro Frost, a gun violence survivor who will be the first Generation Z member of Congress, Kathy Hochul to the New York Governorship, and Josh Shapiro as Pennsylvania Attorney General. And in Oregon, voters passed a Brady-supported referendum that includes a ban on high-capacity magazines.
|
After far too many tragedies this year, like the mass shootings in Uvalde, TX, and Highland Park, IL, these victories could not be more critical for our movement. And Brady is committed to building on this momentum.
This year, we saw how tireless advocacy and dedication finally pressured Congress to act and pass the most comprehensive bipartisan gun violence prevention legislation in decades. Brady helped pass more than 30 gun violence prevention laws at the state and local levels and worked with the Biden-Harris administration to crack down on untraceable ghost guns.
|
But we're not done yet and now that we have a Congress full of gun violence prevention champions, we need your voice more than ever. This year saw some of the most advanced gun violence legislature we've seen in a while but the assault weapons ban still hasn't passed the senate. We need to hear from top supporters like you:
