MARCH ON is dedicated to increasing voter turnout and driving Democrats to the polls. Our data-driven solutions helped defeat Donald Trump in in 2020. Now, we're gearing up to hold the House and Senate in 2022 to advance our progressive agenda.

Friend,

Voters like you made history last night.

Thanks to record-breaking voter turnout – especially from young voters aged 18-29, who made the difference in competitive races nationwide – we elected a wave of progressive candidates and approved critical ballot measures against the odds.

Now, we’re taking a moment to celebrate our victories together.

[1] In Florida, Maxwell Alejandro Frost became the first member of Gen Z ever elected to Congress at age 25. Frost, a community organizer and activist in Central Florida, ran on a platform of ending gun violence, passing the Green New Deal, and reforming our criminal justice system.

[2] In Massachusetts, Maura Healey was elected as the state’s first female Governor, as well as the first out lesbian ever elected Governor in our nation. A former civil rights lawyer and Attorney General of Massachusetts, Healey ran to protect reproductive rights and invest in housing and public transportation.

[3] In Pennsylvania, Summer Lee became the state’s first Black woman elected to Congress, keeping a competitive House district blue. Lee’s background as a community organizer and state legislator led her to run for Congress, where she plans to prioritize environmental justice, police accountability, and protecting reproductive rights.

[4] In Maryland, Wes Moore was elected as the state’s first Black Governor. Moore, a combat veteran and leader of an anti-poverty organization, ran on a platform of investing in Maryland’s public schools and advancing racial justice.

Beyond these and more progressive candidates who achieved victory, we’re also proud of the ballot issues that advanced reproductive rights and abolition efforts in key states across the country.

In Michigan, Vermont, and California, voters approved measures to enshrine abortion rights in their state’s constitutions. And in Kentucky and Montana, voters struck down measures that would have restricted abortion access. The momentum that began in Kansas this past August carried on through November – and now, five more states have solidified abortion rights in our post-Roe nation.

Finally, voters in Alabama, Vermont, Oregon, and Tennessee approved ballot measures to abolish slavery and involuntary servitude as punishment for a crime in their states’ constitutions. Our partners at Abolish Slavery National Network worked tirelessly to pass these critical measures, and we are proud to witness their success today. Friend, you’ve stood with us in activism and advocacy this year – and whether you took action by contacting your representatives, donating to abortion funds, signing a petition, or volunteering your time for a valuable cause, we thank you.

In solidarity,
