There’s more to come, but let’s be proud of what we accomplished.

There’s more to come, but let’s be proud of what we accomplished.

Democracy was on the ballot, and democracy won.

Across the country, voters turned out in droves and bucked the trend of history, delivering the best midterm result for an incumbent president since 2002. In what was once thought to be an inevitable red wave, democracy champions defeated election deniers again and again: in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Minnesota, and elsewhere.

This election was a significant rebuke of MAGA extremism. The American people sent a powerful message that they want our elected leaders to stand up for our fundamental freedoms, including the right to an abortion and the freedom to choose our own leaders.

There were many bright spots and wins for our democracy, and I'm hopeful there will be more in the coming days. I am so proud of the work that we did together to oppose MAGA Republicans and support democracy champions across the country.

Our democracy is not out of the woods yet. It’s going to take all of us to continue the fight for our fundamental freedoms. But tonight, I am celebrating these wins with you. Click here to read more about the victories we secured last night and where the fight to protect democracy goes from here.

Thank you for all you did in this election. Thank you for continuing to stand with us, and I hope you’ll be with us in the work ahead.
