[1]Women's March
John —
While we don’t yet know the results of a few of yesterday’s key races, one
thing is clear: American women prevented the red wave that pundits and
pollsters predicted.
We proved that even in the face of ultra-partisan gerrymandering and
right-wing attempts to keep some of us from voting, we the people will
defend our fundamental freedoms at the ballot box.
Republicans took home some victories yesterday, it’s true. But those
victories primarily came in races where they’d already made it hard to
vote or where gerrymandering gave them an outsize advantage.
Meanwhile, in every state where abortion measures were on the ballot,
abortion won. In Michigan, in Vermont, in California, even in red states —
Montana and Kentucky.
John, we mobilized all year. We marched on the Supreme Court,
on the White House. We built power in Texas and in communities all across
the country in over 1,500 mobilizations nationwide. I’m optimistic — and I
remain convinced that our future is in our hands. But our work isn’t done.
Women’s March just launched our Post-Midterms Survey to hear directly from
our grassroots team about what you want to see Women’s March accomplish in
the coming months and how you want to be involved.
