As we launch into 2020, we wanted to update you first on the week that was. Here's our campaign's weekly recap:

Andrew made us all cringe a bit with his Christmas Sweater game over the holiday. Don't worry, we've already had words with him and hope that our future Representative puts this one in the "ugly Christmas sweater" category of "never again!"

We closed out our fundraising for the year by surpassing all our goals! In two days, we were able to close the gap with over 100 small online contributions alone. Really, we are all tremendously grateful for your support.

The local press has taken notice of our race. The Tampa Bay Times said "[FL-59 is] one of the state's top targeted legislative races." and Florida Politics said about Democrats in East Hillsborough, "they have a good candidate in Andrew Learned to replace Hattersley in the Florida House. Learned is a veteran, which plays well among voters in the now swing district, and he’s also coming to the game with name recognition after running a Congressional primary campaign in 2018."

Another week and another shooting... Andrew got into it with his Republican opponent on Twitter after Danny Kushmer (A+ NRA rating by the way) responded to the Texas Church shooting in this way:

In other Hillsborough County political news, our State Attorney created a program to help make it easier for returning citizens to register to vote!

Politics doesn't always have to be serious. Did you know we can now conduct trading with Wakanda? #wakandaforever

While Andrew was on his way to spend Christmas with his family, his GPS decided to send him on an adventure. We're still not sure where it was sending him.

Lastly, a little hope for the New Year...

That's it for this week's recap. From all of us here on the Andrew Learned Campaign, we wish you a very Happy New Year!!!

- Valerie
