Yesterday was a pivotal election for Michigan. Not only did we flip Michigan blue for the first time in decades, but Democrats are on track to send a powerful delegation back to the U.S. House. I am honored to serve Michigan’s 6th District in Congress.

 

The votes are still being counted, but Michigan voters turned out to make their voices heard yesterday in big numbers. University of Michigan students stood in line, some for more than six hours, to exercise their right to vote. Communities across MI-06 organized and worked together to reach their neighbors with our important message: this election is critical and we all need to vote.

 

We worked together to make this happen as a community. Team Dingell volunteers hit the ground running to knock doors and help state house and state senate candidates win incredibly competitive races to secure a Democratic majority in both chambers. If we had not come together and put in the work together, these races could have turned out differently.

 

Today, we’re going to celebrate the hard work we all put into this election but tomorrow it’s time to get to work in Michigan and D.C.

 

I look forward to returning to Capitol Hill with my colleagues to continue our critical work in Congress. I will continue to work across the aisle to bring progress to our great state and to make sure our nation continues to move forward.
