Dear John,

What a year it’s been! By supporting UNHCR, you’ve helped to raise awareness of our work protecting refugees and providing opportunities for them to thrive. With you by our side, we can show that refugees can achieve anything they put their mind to.

In our last update of the year, we’d like to share the stories and videos that have inspired us the most this month, including some linked to the first-ever Global Refugee Forum. Held in Geneva earlier this month, the event aimed to boost support for refugees and host communities – focusing on education, jobs, protection, energy and solutions. With so much energy and positivity, we’re looking forward to keeping up the momentum in 2020, to build a world where no one gets left behind!

What part will you play?

We're celebrating you!

As we celebrate the end of the year and look forward to what 2020 brings, we’ve got a special video for you. Look out for some familiar faces as we show how everyone has a role to play in helping refugees.

What part will you play?

Say cheese!

UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Cate Blanchett sits down with successful business owner and refugee Razan Alsous to talk cheese. Just two years after arriving in the United Kingdom, Razan started her own business, mixing British milk with flavours from Syria.

The sky's the limit!

The sky’s the limit!

Not everyone is brave enough to fly solo, but 20-year-old Maya isn’t one to run from a challenge. After fleeing conflict in Syria for the safety of the United Kingdom, Maya refused to be defined purely as a refugee and is now training to be a commercial pilot.

We can’t thank you enough for your support this year. Having you on our side means that we have a much better chance of making 2020 a brighter year for people forced to flee their homes.

P.S. What did you think of the quiz we sent your earlier this month, to discover which type of refugee supporter you are? Were you surprised by the result? Send us your feedback at [email protected] 😊
