Dear John,

In polling booths and mailboxes across America, the people made their voices heard and the power and magic of democracy was once again on display.

While votes are still being counted and several pivotal races in both the House and Senate remain too close to call, one thing is for sure:

Thanks to your support and the support of this powerful community of caring and committed environmental advocates, we were able to organize our most robust midterm elections grassroots campaign in EDF Action history. And we helped mobilize tens of thousands of climate voters across the country.

So thank you… Thank you… Thank you!

In 9 U.S. Senate, 17 U.S. House and 3 gubernatorial campaigns across 16 states, you helped us:
  • Hire 12 field organizers in key swing states.

  • Deploy 20 EDF Action staff to support the organizers in the closing weeks of the campaign.

  • Mobilize more than 550 volunteers.

  • Fill more than 1,200 volunteer efforts to turn out voters.

  • Send more than 7,000 handwritten get-out-the-vote postcards to marginal voters.

  • Place more than 15,000 volunteer recruitment calls to EDF Action members.

  • Send more than 80,000 volunteer recruitment and GOTV text messages to EDF Action members.
That is the power of this amazing community. That is the real impact your support makes possible. That is how together, no matter how the final results turn out, we are coming together to build a climate action majority.

And above all else, you all inspire me and our team beyond what words can express. We are humbled and honored to have you with us as we advocate for climate progress in Washington, across the country and around the world.

In solidarity,

Jeremy Pittman
Director of Grassroots Engagement
