Sherrod Brown - Senator from Ohio [[link removed]]
I want to thank you for all you did over the course of this election.
While the Senate race here in Ohio didn’t turn out as we hoped, I’m proud of the worker-focused campaign Tim Ryan built. Its impact could be felt down ticket across the state where we won critical House races by talking about the Dignity of Work.
Greg Landsman, Marcy Kaptur, and Emilia Sykes all won their competitive House contests, making a crucial flip and holding two essential seats. Together in Congress, we’re going to keep fighting for working people in Ohio and across the country because that’s what our grassroots movement is all about.
There are still close races being decided around the country, and control of the Senate is still to be determined. That means our work isn’t done yet. We need to keep organizing and supporting candidates like Georgia Sen. Raphael Warnock whose race is going to a runoff. That race will be decided by a matter of votes, and our grassroots support can help his campaign make critical voter contacts over the next few weeks.
It’s been a difficult election with many ups and downs. We carved out progress for working people by lowering prescription drug costs for people on Medicare and creating thousands of good-paying manufacturing jobs in Ohio and across the country.
We also saw some of our fundamental rights -- like access to the ballot box and women’s right to make their own health care decisions -- set back.
We’re going to keep organizing. Keep voting. Keep fighting. Because when you love this country, you fight for the people who make it work -- whether they punch a clock or swipe a badge, earn a salary or make tips.
That’s exactly what you did over the course of this election. Together, we built a strong grassroots organization that reached workers in every corner of Ohio and the country. Thank you again for all you’ve done and continue to do for our movement for the Dignity of Work.
With gratitude,
Sherrod
